There are two mentoring options available: Advocate or Volunteer.
• The Advocate Mentor will be responsible for developing strong relationships with up to eight children who are experiencing difficulty in school. The Advocate Mentor will collaborate with RCI’s Program Director, the child’s family members, the Jasper County School District, and other community members to ensure the success of each child. The Advocate Mentor will serve as an advocate for the child in the community and in his or her school. The Advocate Mentor will walk through life with the child and guide him or her toward a roadmap for success. We are looking for people who have experience with highly vulnerable children of kindergarten age.
• Highly vulnerable children (HVC) have been defined as “those children under age 18 whose safety, well-being, or development is at significant risk due to inadequate care, protection or access to essential services.
