Bob Lynch
Retired, Bank Executive
Robert (Bob) Lynch was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. He and his wife moved to Sun City in 2006, where he has been active for many years in softball, and continues to enjoy tennis and pickle ball, among other social activities. He has two sons and eight grandchildren in the Roanoke and Ashburn, Virginia regions.
Bob received an Associates of Arts degree from Luther Rice College and also attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Having the unfortunate luck of being #1 in the draft lottery at that time, he enlisted in the Army, serving two years in the intelligence field at Fort Shafter in Honolulu. He received the Army Commendation Medal for his service.
Upon the completion of his military service, Bob spent 33 years in the banking industry before retiring as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending in 2005 from a community bank in Reston, Virginia. Due to mergers and acquisitions he worked for both large and small institutions over the years, having his first 24 years at one institution purchased by First Union, which is Wells Fargo today.
