Dr. Karen Cooper
Doctor of Dental Surgery
Dr. Karen Cooper is a native of California. She attended the University of Southern California, where she was the only African American female out of 20,000 graduates to receive a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Dr. Cooper continued her academic endeavors at Case Western Reserve University Dental School, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While attended CWRU, she was the first undergraduate dental student to ever treat a full mouth reconstruction case on a patient. This unusual experience uncovered her true passion for cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Cooper has been practicing dentistry in Georgia for over 17 years. In 2006, she became an associate at Hinesville Family Dentistry. By February 2007, she was opening the doors of her own private practice, Smile Designs by Dr. Karen Cooper.
Dr. Cooper takes pride in giving back to her community. She lead a team providing free services for the community in Give Back A Smile and Give Kids A Smile. She has been voted as the Face of Dentistry for the last 15 years, and was voted South’s Best Boss in 2021 and South’s Distinguished Doctor in 2022. She served two years on the Board of Directors for the Ralph Gilbert Museum as well as Savannah Community Church.
In her free time, Dr. Cooper enjoys boating, traveling, paddle-boarding, and working out.
