Michael Ryan
Retired, Justice — N.H Circuit Court
The Honorable Judge Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts in the General Program of Liberal Studies from
the University of Notre Dame (1971-1975), followed by a Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts (1975-1976).
He went on to obtain a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Drake University School of Law (1980-1983) and became a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association in 1984, maintaining his membership until 2022.
Judge Ryan practiced law at the firm of King and Ryan from 1985 to 1999 before serving as Special Justice of the Goffstown District Court (1999-2008) and later as Justice of the New Hampshire Circuit Court (2008-2021).
Retiring on June 30, 2021, his legal career focused primarily on Juvenile Law, handling cases related to Juvenile Delinquency, Abuse and Neglect, Children in Need of Services, Termination of Parental
Rights, and Adoption.
In 2022, he relocated to Hilton Head Island and began volunteering with Real Champions in 2023.
