WYNN ENGLISBE
Retired, Licensed Inspector
Wynn claims that he “never really grew up,” which inspires a passion inside him to help and mentor young people. This love for childhood and children has led Wynn to invest his time and energy in numerous causes: including, teaching Sunday school, assisting children with physical disabilities to learn how to ski, and mentoring and tutoring elementary school students through the “Thumbs Up” after school program in Beaufort, SC.
Wynn was born in Kenosha, WI, but fortunately, for this warm-weather lover, his family relocated to South Carolina when he was still a child. Wynn attended high school in Columbia, SC, and went on to earn his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Always committed to the well-being of others, Wynn then served as a U.S. Marine combat officer from 1968–1972. His rank at the time of his honorable discharge was Captain.
Prior to retiring in 2014, Wynn ran his own home/building inspection business and was a New York State licensed professional. He inspected over 15,000 buildings for prospective buyers and sellers.
Wynn is married to his long-time friend Susan Leach, and they have four grown children between them. He enjoys biking, kayaking, lounging at the fitness center, and imitating the stance of a professional golfer, and he is even known to do a little gardening from time to time, albeit unwillingly.
